KVIC Appoints Sunil Sethi as Advisor

KVIC Appoints Design and Fashion Icon Sunil Sethi, as Advisor The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has appointed Shri Sunil Sethi, a leading personality in the Indian fashion industry, as its advisor. Sethi will advise the Commission on latest design interventions in the readymade garments segment as well as promotion of Khadi in India and abroad. According to a statement of KVIC, Mr Sethi’s appointment is for a period of one year. Earlier, renowned fashion designer Ms Ritu Beri served as advisor to KVIC whose term expired recently. KVIC said that Mr Sethi has over four decades of experience in global merchandising, where he has contributed significantly to the growth of Indian handicrafts, design and the textile industry, through many innovative and successful initiatives. KVIC launched Sandalwood and Bamboo plantation, a new initiative to spur monetization of its assets The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), in a first of its kind initiative has begun exploring the untapped but highly profitable venture of sandalwood and bamboo tree plantation for monetization of its assets. Seeking to encourage commercial plantation of sandalwood and bamboo, the KVIC has begun a drive with plantation of 500 saplings each of sandalwood and bamboo at its Nashik training center spread over 262 acres of land. Hon’ble Union Minister for MSME, Shri Nitin Gadkari has also lauded the initiative of KVIC. KVIC has procured sandalwood saplings from Fragrance and Flavour Development Centre (FFDC) Kannauj, a unit of the Ministry of MSME, in Uttar Pradesh and Bamboo saplings from Assam. स्थानीय से वैश्विक : खादी ने विदेशी बाजारों में पदार्पण व्यापक रूप से लोकप्रिय खादी फेस मास्क "वैश्विक" बनने के लिए तैयार है। खादी और ग्रामोद्योग आयोग अब वाणिज्य और उद्योग मंत्रालय द्वारा सभी प्रकार के गैर-चिकित्सा / गैर-सर्जिकल मास्क के निर्यात पर प्रतिबंध हटाने के बाद खादी कॉटन और रेशम फ़ेस मास्क को विदेशों में निर्यात करने की संभावना तलासेगा। । इस संबंध में एक अधिसूचना 16 मई को विदेश व्यापार महानिदेशालय (DGFT) द्वारा जारी की गई थी। यह कदम माननीय प्रधान मंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी के "लोकल टू ग्लोबल" अर्थात स्थानीय से वैश्विक अपील के मद्देनजर "आत्म निर्भर भारत अभियान" को देखते हुए उठाया गया है । वैश्विक कोविड -19 महामारी के दौरान फेस मास्क की भारी मांग को ध्यान में रखते हुए, खादी और ग्रामोद्योग आयोग ने क्रमशः डबल लेयर्ड और ट्रिपल लेयर्ड कॉटन के साथ-साथ सिल्क फेस मास्क भी विकसित किये हैं, जो पुरुषों के लिए दो रंगों में और महिलाओं के लिए विभिन्न रंगों में उपलब्ध है। खादी और ग्रामोद्योग आयोग को अब तक 8 लाख मास्क की आपूर्ति के आदेश मिल चुके हैं और आयोग

To add to its success, KVIC has recently bagged an order to supply 7.5 lakh pieces of Khadi Masks to Jammu & Kashmir Government alone in which 5 lakh masks will be supplied to Jammu district, one lakh forty thousand to Phulwama district, one lakh to Udhampur district and 10,000 to Kupwara district. These masks will be supplied to assist Development Commissioners of these districts by April 20. KVIC celebrates International Women’s Day great enthusiasm and passion. Khadi and Village Industries Commission celebrated International Women’ s Day at Central Office, Mumbai premises with great enthusiasm and passion. The programme was organized by women empowerment Committee of KVIC. It was amazing to see women officials perform skits, recite poetry and shared their journey of life, which was an inspiration for the audiences. KVIC brings unique concept for beekeepers

For the first time, a novel initiative taken by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has infused exuberance amongst the Beekeepers and farmers across India. ‘Apiary on Wheels’, a unique concept designed by KVIC for the easy upkeep and migration of Bee Boxes having live Bee colonies, was flagged off today by the Hon’ble Union Minister of MSME Shri Nitin Gadkari Ji in Delhi, in the presence of Shri VK Saxena, Chairman KVIC and KVIC Senior Management and staff. Congratulating the Chairman KVIC, Shri Nitin Gadkari said, “Bee Keeping looks easy but has many intricate difficulties which only a beekeeper would understand.
